Lord Buddha Biography


Siddhartha was born approximately 563 BCE in the district of Lumbini which is now modern-day Nepal. His father was king Suddhodana and her mother was queen Mahamaya. When he was sixteen, he finished his education and married Princess Yasodhara. King Suddhodana handed over his on Siddhartha. He had a baby, his name was Rahul. However, at one point in his early adult life. Siddhartha  was find to a grater meaning to his life. After that he left the palace and wandered around the kingdom. He saw different people suffering from old age, illness and witness death which had a great impact on him.As a consequence, Siddhartha resolved to seek a deeper meaning of life.
             Secretly, Siddhartha left the palace leaving behind his wife and son.When he was 29 years old, he decided to renounce lay life. He devoted himself to meditation, seeking enlightenment amongst  the ascetics of forest. He regained his strength and resolved to follow a middle path and avoiding excesses of both reduction some food or drink and eat and drink in large quantities. 
          One day Siddhartha committed to sit under a Bodhi tree until he attained enlightenment. For several days, he sat in meditation seeking Nirvana. He was tested by various forces which tried to prevent him realising the goal. After that he was successful and entered into the extremely happy feeling of Nirvana for several days. On returning to normal consciousness, Siddhartha, he is known as Buddha (Buddha means enlightened one) made the decision to spend the remainder of his life teaching others. He sought to avoid deep philosophy, he avoided using the term 'God'. He prefered to talk about the practical way. He preached all over India and talk about to live in simple life. He died on 483 BCE in Kushinagar, India.
