Dr Zakir Hussain Biography

Dr. Zakir Hussain was born at Hyderabad on February 8, 1897. He belong to upper middle family and he settled at Qaunganj in the district of Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh. His father's name was Fida Hussain Khan. He went to Hyderabad and studied Law and had a most successful career. Unfortunately, he died when Dr. Zakir Hussain was only ten years old.
   Dr. Hussain was born in Hyderabad, india. He went for higher education to Mohammedan Anglo- Oriental College. In Present day, it is Aligarh Muslim University. In 1915, at the age of 18, he got married Shah Jahan Begam and he had two daughters, Saeeda Khan and Safia Rehman. He studied very hard and love of Knowledge. He was always helped his fellow students. When he was only 23 years old, he was student of M.A. and All the small group of students and teachers decided to established a National Muslim University by the name of Jamia Millia Islamia. He went to Germany for studied and he stayed there three years in 1920. He acquired a deep love for European art literature on music and he also got Doctorate from the University of Berlin in Economics.
    Dr. Zakir Hussain was appointed for Vice - Chancellor in Aligarh Muslim University in the year of 1948. After that he was also nominated a member of the Indian University Commission and in 1954 he was elected the world President of the organisation and he was also nominated to Rajya sabha. Then he made the Indian representative on the Executive board of UNESCO from 1956 to 1958. he remained the Chairman  of the central Board of Secondary Education till 1957.
   Dr. Zakir Hussain was awarded Padma Vibhushan in 1954 and Bharat Ratna in 1963. after that he serving as Vice President for a term of five years. He was elected President of India on May 13, 1967 and he was served as the third President of India. In his deeply inspirational speech and he said that the whole of India was his home and all its people were his Family. He died on May 3, 1969.
